I'm guessing it is a seedhead of some type, but I do not know what. It looks very ethereal so would probably travel a way if there was a breeze.

It looks like the cardoon seeds we see blowing around our backyard around this time of year.
Looks like the seed and fluffy bits of the dreaded dandelion. Or maybe you use their bitter leaves in salad?
