The crabapple wine had finished its second fermentation, so it was time to syphon it off into storage jars.
It was also a dark, rainy and cold long weekend. Perfect to tackle the crabapple wine.

It didn't really take long. Have everything ready, syphon off through muslin cloth, put lid on new jar. Taste the liquid to see whether it's worth the effort. Yes. Not bad. Now I just hope it will clear a bit. It is still very murky.

ohh excitement! shall i ask the bloke about how to de-cloud?
Yes, please, Kel! :)
Store it for a couple of years to get the best result. I made a lot of wines at one stage in my life - blueberry was my favourite along with strawberry - but remember - it does develop quite a high alcohol level - almost like brandy when you use apples. Looks good - we'll sample it for you in due course. We just had a flurry of snow! At sea level.
It looks glorious already. Hope you have the "cellar" space to build up your vintages over the years.
Cheers!
