Flowering nicely in the garden. Such an easy plant to grow. Very hardy.
Takes frost and drought and neglect. What's not to like? :)
Two mad gnomes and a big garden. The Veggie Gnome does the edible stuff, the Berry Gnome the berries and taties.

Chocolate Mint
The chocolate mint is flowering madly at the moment. It has beautiful flowers and attracts tons of bees.
I haven't found a good (culinary?) use for this particular mint yet. Any ideas? What do you do with it?

Caraway Thyme
This is only one plant, but it slowly covers bare patches and creeps nicely along pavers. It is easy to rip out, if it starts trespassing. When it starts flowering, it is absolutely stunning.Rub the leaves between your fingers and you will enjoy the scent of caraway. Very nice in cooking.
Very nice to look at, too. At one end you can see some basil mint that managed to escape from a pot.

Pesto!
Well, not exactly right now, but look at these seedlings. They look pretty promising. I reckon come tomato season, we shall have a few basil leaves with our tomato/bocconcini platter.
This is Lettuce Leaf Basil.
They are still enjoying the view from the window sill but I think I shall move them into the cold frame very soon. Just to harden them off a little bit.

Grow, Galangal, Grow!
Maggie from the Hills & Plains Seedsavers gave me a Galangal plant on Sunday. Thank you again, Maggie!
This is where I planted it. Just behind the garlic patch (doesn't the garlic look great?!), in a new little bed, specially made for it.

Then some clear plastic around it to protect it from cold nights (and days).
