Yesterday's view during a hail storm.

Two mad gnomes and a big garden. The Veggie Gnome does the edible stuff, the Berry Gnome the berries and taties.

That sure is a lot of water!!! Still we desperately needed the water, just not laying right outside your back door literally lol
ReplyDeleteHope you dry out a little bit soon and can go back to enjoying the rain a little bit further from your windows!!!
Wow, that looks like the monsoons here, although our flooding leaves quite quickly. Yours looks so saturated that it doesn't have a place to go. Talk about August Showers for you. Hope you can stay dry!
ReplyDeleteThat's some serious rain. A bit scary coming so close to the house though. I hope it stayed dry inside.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any plans to build swales to divert the water next time? We've had to incorporate them at two levels in front of our house - one above the front retaining wall and one below it.
That's because in our first year living here, we had some incredible summer storms and the running water was nearly touching the verandah. It's scary when it comes that close to the house and the rain keeps pouring!!
By the way, I've been enjoying reading your adventures with bacon lately. :)
We are now having marvellous spring weather. Sunshine, bit of warmth, etc. The water has receded and there is just a little mud left on the ground.
ReplyDeleteThe washing machine is working overtime, especially as the forecast from Tuesday night onwards is for rain again.
Chris, no plans for swales yet. But we shall see.
Glad you are enjoying our bacon tales. :)
