Eggplant 'Tsakonikis'

This is a Greek heirloom eggplant.
It's the first time I am growing this. It's a fairly early eggplant, and you can see this even at our place! I don't usually have such big fruit on our plants at this time of summer. I will let it grow a little big bigger, then harvest it. It'll be interesting to cook with it. Can't wait! :)

  1. We've been growing these for a couple of years, I love how cute they look in the garden! They don't have a strong eggplant flavour so they are nice as a pizza topping.

  2. I wonder if we can manage any fruit this year?

  3. Michelle, yes, they are just lovely to look at in the garden. :) Can't wait to eat the first one(s).

Sue, I hope you do. I haven't been very successful with mine before, as our growing season for eggplant seems a bit short. But this variety seems to do the trick around here. :)
