This is our first cauliflower of the season. Yes, I did wait a bit too long to harvest this one. The head is quite open, but it's okay, it still tastes very nice.
We have several varieties growing.
All very pretty, and very tasty.
Already looking forward to them all.
Do you have a favourite way of preparing / eating cauliflower? I like it stir-fried. With garlic, ginger and chilli. And making sure that at least one side of the florets gets really golden brown.
It's also nice raw, dipped in some chickpea aioli. :)
I just like cauliflower any way.
ReplyDeleteCan't blame you there. It's a wonderful vegetable. :)
ReplyDeleteMy fav way is to chop it, toss with a drizzle of olive oil and s&p then roast in the oven - crispy bits, crunchy bits, soft bits and a glorious flavour.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, Mickle! Also very nice way of preparing it. Thanks for the reminder. :)
ReplyDeleteWe had some of the green cauliflower from the garden recently too. I loved it's flavour - not as strong as white cauli, almost pea like.
ReplyDeleteWe just cooked ours in the microwave, with a little water, I guess you could steam it too. I loved it just like this, not added flavours. The green cauliflowers taste divine.
Chris, great to hear you had success with cauliflower, too! Yes, you don't have to do much when you have tasty veggies. :) They speak for themselves.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI love cauliflower cheese. Two of my most favourite things ever together in one dish. Perfect if I have a) made the cheese b) grown the cauli. Yay for doing it myself.
Yes, cauliflower and cheese is a great combination. Especially if everything is from your larder. :)
