Everyone was curious to know, what colour it would have when cooked. Here it is, sautéed in a little butter.
Served with some home-made, spicy beef sausages and hand-cut chips (from home-grown potatoes).
Gosh, it was good! :)
Two mad gnomes and a big garden. The Veggie Gnome does the edible stuff, the Berry Gnome the berries and taties.

it looks absolutly delish!
ReplyDeleteThat certainly isn't the colour our purple cauliflowers went after cooking - they went a really inky blue colour - not very appetising really!
ReplyDeleteAngela - thanks. It was! :)
ReplyDeleteSue - I was hoping you'd comment, as you had mentioned before that the colour wasn't appetising. So, it does turn a different colour. Wow. Isn't that interesting?! :)
I wish I'd taken a photo now but we haven't any growing so I've missed the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteSue - what a shame! Are you going to grow it again - or will you move on to a different variety? :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure - we really grew it as we were having problems growing the white varieties and the coloured ones - we grew yellow, orange and green curds too seemed easier to grow. Now though we seem to be doing OK with the white varieties. If we do though I'll take a photo of it cooked.
