'Bad chook!'

Yes, that's what you can hear at our place at the moment. The first time Flower Gnome said that to a renegade chook, I nearly keeled over.

The little buggers are still breaking into our orchard and veggie / berry / flower garden. They dig up Flower Gnome's iris and bulb beds and totally mess up the thick mulch around the fruit trees. Very frustrating.

We had free-range chicken curry last night. Delicious! No, not our chooks. But it is very tempting to eat 'Bad Chooks!'.

  1. They're not silly, they know where the "good tucker" is kept. Delicious free range worms under the mulch !

  2. That reminds me of when my sister didn't want to waste the young roosters she had to cull. She learnt how to kill them humanely and then made a lovely baked chook feast - they sat down to the meal and couldn't bring themselves to even taste it and then threw them all out!

  3. Ah, I would have no problem eating them, if somebody else killed them and plucked them. I'd enjoy them immensely. :)
